Doris Lucille Nichelson, 82, of Pilot Grove, Missouri, formally of Grain Valley, passed away on October 8, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 14th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Doris was born June 10, 1939, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of John C. and Freda (VanCamp) Hedrick. She was a great mom, granny, sister and friend. Doris lived her life as a Baptist. She enjoyed many things, including bingo, lottery scratchers and going to the casino. Doris had fun looking at Facebook and visiting with her Facebook friends. She liked going to stay with her sister. Doris would certainly hold her own, arguing politics. She loved getting together with family and friends, especially to celebrate three of her favorite holidays, the 4^th of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Nichelson who passed on September 10, 2004; and infant daughter, Melody Ann Nichelson; 2 brothers: Daniel Hedrick and Richard Hedrick; 1 sister, Margaret (Sis) Stewart.

She is survived by 3 sons: Charles Elliott of Kansas City, MO, Mark Nichelson (Lisa) of Oak Grove, MO, and Rusty Nichelson (LaDonna) of Warsaw, MO; 1 daughter, Misty Ellebracht (Nick) of Pilot Grove, MO; 1 brother, J.D. Hedrick (Carol) of Raytown, MO; 1 sister, Joann Hibler of Oak Grove, MO; 9 grandchildren: Charles, Jillena, Marcus, Michael, Brianna, Delanie (Jordan), Dylan, Luke and Noah; 8 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
