Edna Florence Smith, 92, of Mayview, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 27th in Greenton Cemetery in Odessa, MO. A luncheon will be served at Zion United Church of Christ in Mayview following the graveside.
Edna was born May 10, 1931, in Niangua, Missouri, the daughter of Russell and Olga Audry (Hall) Rowden. She was a great cook, and enjoyed square dancing, hunting, playing guitar, and listening to gospel music on the radio. Edna was quick witted, funny, and she liked to laugh. Her family was very valuable to her.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Daniel Leroy Smith; five children: Lester Burks, Juanita Morris, Harlin Burks, Dwayne Burks, Marguarett Stefancik; brother, Roy Rowden; and three sisters: Ruby Joiner, Nola Terrill, and Margie Latimer.
Her survivors include sister, Shirley Sleyster of Independence, MO; four daughters: Thelma Sue Smith (Roy) of Odessa, MO, Lillie Jennings (Paul) of Mayview, MO, Tanya Jancek of Odessa, MO, and Loretta Dover of Kansas City, MO; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
