Gail Coffey


Valeria Gail Coffey, 66, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 11th at The Gathering Place for The Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2820 M 291 Frontage Rd, Independence, MO 64057; burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Oak Grove, MO.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 10th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove.

Gail was born April 23, 1949, in Odessa, Missouri, the daughter of Rex and Josephine (Booker) Brown.  She married Michael B. Coffey on October 7, 1967. Gail was active in her church, and had been a missionary in Central America.  She enjoyed crafts and traveling, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Gail was preceded in death by her mother; a brother, Tommy Brown; and great niece, Bailey Bennett.  Her survivors include her husband, Mike Coffey of the home; son, Christopher Coffey (Megan) of San Antonio, TX; two daughters: Josephine Feltrop (William) of Osage, MO, and Suzanne Eickhoff (David) of Little Rock, AR; her father, Rex Brown; sister, Tina Butler; brother, Dwane Brown; and five grandchildren: Rex Feltrop, William Feltrop IV, Lillyanna Eickhoff, Alayna Eickhoff, and Ethan Eickhoff.
