Gary Paul Hodges, 76, of Odessa, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Royer Funeral Home in Grain Valley, Missouri. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with burial in Valley Memorial Gardens, Grain Valley.
Gary was born on January 18, 1949, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Thurman Paul and Mary Ruth (Spence) Hodges. He was united in marriage to Carol June Crossland on May 18, 1974. He worked for Sears as a repair technician for over 35 years.
Gary was a gifted pianist and vocalist. His music had a way of drawing people in whenever he played and sang, others would stop and listen. He faithfully served in church for many years, sharing his musical talents nearly every Sunday.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Carol June Hodges, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and David Tye; two granddaughters, Makayla and Kyleigh Tye; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Ted Giefer; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roy and Janet Crossland; and seven nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws, Edward and Betty Crossland.
