Gerald H. Baker


Gerald Harry Baker, 85, of Lone Jack, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 31st at Royer Funeral Home in Oak Grove, MO.  He will be laid to rest at a private graveside in Lone Jack Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to shop.alivingtribute.org (National State Parks) or mochf.org (Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation).

Gerald was born December 4, 1937, in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, the son of Benjamin and Catherine (Gallon) Baker.  He married Susan Elizabeth Englert.  Gerald served in the U.S. Marines and then worked in manufacturing.  He & Susan moved to Lone Jack in 1982.  Gerald loved playing darts and was a dart shooter all over the country, one year becoming state champion.  He enjoyed bike riding and participated in the MS 150 and was an avid gardener.

Gerald is survived by his wife of 53 years, Susan Baker; three children: Bernard Baker (Paula), Gerald Baker (Paige), and Susan Taylor (Matt); grandchildren: Jesse Baker, Jon Thompson, Kelli Cassidy, Casey Tribble, Cody Baker, Carley Baker, Logan Taylor, and Jake Taylor; and nine great-grandchildren.

  2. Jerry had such an impact on my life. He was one-of-a-kind to say the very least. I will miss him so much. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your life Susie and family!!!!
