Gregg was born in Kansas City, MO, on March 9, 1973.  He spent his childhood and high school years in Oak Grove, MO before beginning a career with Union Pacific.  Traveling and seeing the country as a young man.  He eventually settled back in the KC area, working as a Real Estate Appraiser surrounded by his close friends and family.

Gregg was an avid sports fan.  Dedicated and die-hard Chiefs fan. Gregg enjoyed all things football.  Games, training camp visits, tailgating with friends, sports talk radio and fantasy football leagues.  Many a friend and family member could count on daily updates and news regarding football in their inbox or text messages.

He was a family man.  Loyal and protective of family and close friends considered family.  Dedicated to taking care of those around him he cared most about.  He enjoyed cooking for his family and friends, from making chili to using his smoker for a variety of foods.

A proud American, he loved God, Country, and Guns.  Fiercely patriotic to his Nation.  He greatly enjoyed being outdoors, float trips to hunting to target shooting.  If it included close friends or family Gregg was there.

He had a great love for music, a great variety from Metallica to Hank Williams Jr.  He loved going to concerts and having jam sessions at home.

He will forever be remembered for his laugh and his uncanny ability to make those around him laugh uncontrollably.  His sense of humor and laughter were not overlooked or taken for granted.  A beloved son and beloved brother, he will be greatly missed.

Gregg was preceded in death by his parents.  Mother, Dorothy F. Barnett (Ruehter) and Father, William E. Barnett and Brother, Brent W. Barnett.

He leaves behind two brothers, Bryan Barnett and Brad (Amanda) Barnett.  Nephews (Jacob, Jared, Aaron, Cody, Ethan), Niece (Delaney), Great Nephew (Sawyer).

Obituary submitted by family.
