James (Jim) K. McCune of Sedalia, Missouri passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 17, 2025 in hospice care. Graveside service and burial will be at 10 a.m., Monday, June 23, 2025 at New Salem Cemetery in Independence, Missouri.
Jim was born on August 4, 1939 in Huntsville, Missouri. His family moved to the Kansas City area and he graduated from Paseo High School. Jim was a proud member of the U. S. Army from 1962 to 1964. He retired from Fixtures Furniture, KCMO as a production manager and enjoyed many years around the Lake of the Ozarks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen McCune, brother Benny McCune and stepson, Lester Pruett.
He leaves behind his wife of 37 years, Eunice McCune, stepdaughters Donna Parson and Kellie Franklin (Jamie). Four granddaughters, Jackie Tharnish, Stephanie Pruett (Eric), Sarah Stephenson (Mac) and Lauren Franklin (Sean). Four great grandchildren, Frankie, Ira, Mae and Jack. Jim also leaves a loving sister, Sandra Carroll, nephew, John and niece, Shannon.
