John E. Wyatt

John Edward Wyatt, 80, of Independence, MO, passed away on April 7, 2022 after a five year battle with cancer.

John was born on December 3, 1941, and graduated from Van Horn High School in 1959.

After graduation, he worked at Western Auto, Kenworth and K. W. Dart. He then owned and operated his own landscaping business for 30 years. He met and married his soulmate, Connie Hays, in 1962. It was a marriage that stood the test of time for 60 years. In 1964 they started their family of three wonderful children, Julie, Michael and Charlene. John was a loving and devoted husband and father determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. He never wavered in his love and commitment to the family he cherished. He was undeniably proud of Julie, Mike, Charlene and his wife, Connie and was a fervent supporter of all their endeavors. John was also a passionate hunter and fisherman, and loved to travel with his family on vacations to Canada, Florida, Texas, Colorado, Virginia, Washington D.C., Maryland, the Carolinas, and Maui, Hawaii. He and Connie also traveled together to England, Scotland, France, Italy and Maui, Hawaii. Anyone who knew John knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for.

John is survived by his wife, Connie Wyatt of Independence, MO; his daughter, Julie Hite and her husband, Jeff Hite of Houston TX; his son, Mike Wyatt and his wife, Lori Wyatt of Grain Valley, MO; and his daughter, Charlene Berends, and her husband, Corey Berends and their children, Jack and Sophia of Chicago, IL.

It was our honor to love him and to share our lives with him. The family will honor John with a private memorial in celebration of his life well-lived.
