John Joseph Brestogianis, 63, of Independence, Missouri passed away on Monday. June 16, 2025. Visitation is 10:00 a.m. Thursday June 26, 2025. At St. Marks Catholic Church. Church service at 11:00 a.m. and a Celebration of Life Luncheon for Joe and Mother Theresa Calovich to follow at the church. All are welcome. Joe was born July 5, 1961 in Kansas City, Missouri to Jimmie Brestogianis and Theresa (Lucas) Brestogianis. He had many types of jobs through the years. Joe worked at Sears, Consolidated Freight, Top Master, General Motors, Home Depot, where he won the presidential award and Walmart. Joe is a 1979 graduate of William Chrisman High School. He was an honor roll student. Joe later went to the Kansas City Votech school for heating and cooling. He was a skilled craftsman, Eagle Scout and altar boy. Among the many things that Joe enjoyed were mushroom hunting, snorkeling and he was a talented artist.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Joe is survived by sister, Jamie Greer of Independence MO; nephew, Joshua Greer (Megan) of Buckner, MO; great nephews: Rowyn Greer and Logan Greer; high school sweetheart, Toni Manselle; sons, Jason White (Rachel) and Nick White; grandchildren: Kendall, Jackson, Adalyn and Gabrielle.
