John Philip Nastasi, 41, of Independence, MO, passed away on June 26, 2022 in Independence, MO, due to complications from diabetes. Visitation will be from 10-11 am on Friday, July 1, 2022 at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home, 1823 N. Blue Mills Road, Independence, MO 64058. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am immediately following the visitation at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Independence, MO.
John was born in Kansas City, MO on December 29, 1980 to Joseph and Mary Nastasi. John graduated from Fort Osage High School in 1999 and attended Metropolitan Community College where he earned an Associate Degree in Networking. He worked for several years as a caregiver for dependent adults and most recently for the Internal Revenue Service. John loved to watch sports and in particular the Kansas City Chiefs, Royals and KU Basketball. He was most comfortable in a Chiefs T shirt or similar casual attire. So, we invite you to wear your Chiefs, Royals or KU attire if you are able to join us on Friday.
John was predeceased by his father, Joe Nastasi.
John is survived by his mother, Mary Nastasi; One brother, Joe (Angie) Nastasi, three sisters, Anissa (Rodney) Nelson, Alesia (Larry) Burroughs, Maria (Jimmy) Waite. He also greatly loved his thirteen nieces and nephews; Elizabeth Nelson, Emily Nelson, Joshua Nastasi, Ethan Nelson and girlfriend, Payton Kinnison, Larry Burroughs, Corey Burroughs, Jesse Nastasi, Elsie Kate Nelson, Jonathan Waite, Abbie Nastasi, Justin Waite, Madison Waite, and Jared Waite. He is also survived by one Uncle and several cousins.
