John Robert Bly, 64, of Odessa, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2020.  Funeral services will be held at a later date.

John was born in Bates City, Missouri, on April 26, 1956, the son of Thelma Bly. He was an Army Veteran and Union Carpenter for many years, also known as the scrap man around Odessa.  He loved to fish and spend time with family.

John is survived by his three sons: Todd Gates (Brook), Jeff Gates (Beverly), and Jason Gates (Sarah); one daughter, Darleen Bly; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; two brothers, James and Kevin; and two sisters, Cathy and Linda. He was preceded in death by his wife Pat, brother Lee, and both parents.
