Juanita Ann Menghi (Rangel), age 74, passed away peacefully in the home of her daughter, Connie Monnig (Gary) of Independence, MO on July 19, 2023. Her 2 daughters, Connie and Leslie Kitchings (Al) of Hephzibah, Georgia were with Juanita when the Lord took her.
Juanita was born to parents Jose Merced Rangel and Maria Guadalupe (Torres) Rangel in Emporia, KS on December 27, 1948.
Juanita was the 7th of 13 children. She graduated from Emporia Sr. High School.
Juanita or Nita as known to her siblings had an outgoing personality. She loved to dance, drink and just have a great time. She always had a smile on her face. Juanita was kind and compassionate and everyone knew they could rely on her.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard (Dick) Menghi, her son, Scott Rangel, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. She is survived by her 2 daughters and 6 grandchildren, Kristopher, Kaila, Ethan, Samantha, Kaden and August.
The family has entrusted Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home with the arrangements. A Visitation with Service following is scheduled for Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 1pm at 1823 N. Blue Mills Road, Independence, MO. A reception will follow at the family’s home. Father Jim Taranto will officiate the ceremony.
