Julia K. Hunsinger


Julia Kay “Judy” Hunsinger, 78, was born on June 5th, 1944 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The daughter of Edwin J. Wells and Hattie Elizabeth Donaho. She attended public schools in Lawrence, Kansas and was a 1962 graduate of Lawrence High School. Judy spent over 35 years in property management of subsidized housing throughout Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. She was retired. Judy married Douglas Hunsinger I in 1963 and divorced in 1968. Judy passed away peacefully in care of family and a fabulous medical team. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend.

Surviving loved ones: Kendra and Bill Pittman; 7 grandchildren Breanna and Jeremy Williams, Blake Braxdale, Brittney and Dean Clemons, Kera Pittman, and Lauren Pittman; 4 great grandchildren Landon and Logan Williams, and Elliot and Olive Clemons; Niece Susan Diane Leary; Nephew Steven Edwin Leary and wife Cynthia Bushnell Leary; great nieces and nephews, and several dear friends and extended family.

Judy will be preceded in death by her Parents Edwin and Hattie Wells; Son Douglas A Hunsinger II; sister Hattie “Ethel” Wells Leary, as well as many more loved ones.

Judy will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lawrence, Kansas.

A celebration of life will be taking place to honor Judy on July 17th, 2022 at The American Legion Tirey J. Ford Post 21 at 4:30pm-6:30pm. All are welcome.
