Julia Marie Collins, 80, of Independence, MO passed away at her home Mary 12, 2021.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with a Rosary to follow. Mass will be 12:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 600 N. Liberty St., Independence, MO 64050. Burial at New Salem Cemetery.

Julia was born in MS to Benjamin & Julia (Roberts) Watson. She married John W. Collins on July 20, 1984. Julia was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church for over 20 years. She enjoyed quilting, was a member of the Alter and Rosary Society at St. Mary’s. She loved rainbows and butterflies. Julia was valedictorian of her high school class. She was the first person in her family to obtain a College degree.  Julia was a loving and supporting wife.

Julia was preceded in death by her parents: Benjamin & Julia; brothers: Eulgen Watson, Charles “Slick” Watson.

Julia is survived by her husband John of the home; sister-in-law: Cathy Kubelka (Eugene) of Austin, TX; 2 nephews: Glen and Bobby Watson; 3 nieces: Renee Overton, Gay Pierce, Linda Tucker; dog: Bear and Cat: Socks II
