Kelly Lee Nichols, 60, of Bates City, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023. Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 2nd at New Life Church in Oak Grove, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
Kelly was born November 25, 1962, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Henry Lloyd Ethridge and Launa May (Jones) Ethridge. On June 11, 1993, she married her husband and companion of 34 years, Christopher W. Nichols. To this union, a daughter was born, Emily Grace (Nichols) Atkerson of Lee’s Summit, MO. The young family made their home in the Oak Grove/Bates City area, where they resided for 30 years.
Kelly was preceded in death by her mother, Launa May (Jones) Ethridge.
Survivors include her husband, Christopher Nichols of Bates City, MO; her daughter, Emily Atkerson and son-in-law, Ryan Atkerson of Lee’s Summit, MO; two granddaughters; her father, Henry Lloyd Ethridge of Odessa, MO; brother, Henry Lloyd “Skip” Ethridge and sister-in-law, Kathy Ethridge of Bates City, MO; two nieces; four nephews; many great-nieces and nephews; and stepsister, Michelle Edwards and her husband, Moses of Texas.
