Lance Gross

Lance Gross passed away on October 26, 2025 with his son and two daughters by his side. Lance was born to Marlin (“Pete”) Gross and Virginia (Stewart) Gross on July 22, 1959 in Norfolk, Virginia. Lance lived the majority of his adult life in Blue Springs, Missouri. He became a Pipefitter as a very young man and was a dedicated and proud member of Pipefitters Local 533 until he retired.

Lance inherited a love of cars and racing from his dad. On most weekends you would find him in his garage working on his various cars and listening to music. He also enjoyed attending car shows, watching NHRA, and collecting car memorabilia and antiques. When he wasn’t working on cars, he would tend to his meticulous lawn and delighted in having, “the best lawn on the block!”

Lance was most proud in life of his long career as a Pipefitter, his home of more than 30 years, his cars, and most importantly; his children and grandchildren.

Preceded in death by both of his parents, Lance is survived by his siblings, three children and five grandchildren.

Lance’s daughters wish to convey their sincere gratitude to the teams at Jefferson Healthcare and Ascend Hospice for the attentive and compassionate care they provided to their dad in recent months.

A private graveside service for family and close friends will be held in honor of Lance’s life at the Blue Springs Cemetery.
