Lois J. (Gosney) McAnally, 91, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away September 27, 2023 in Blue Springs, MO. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 7th at Royer Funeral Home in Oak Grove, with memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment at Floral Hills Cemetery, Kansas City, MO.
Lois was born July 17, 1932, to Fred R. Sr. and Myrtle L. (Alley) Gosney. She was born and raised in Oak Grove, MO. Fred was a sharecropper and they lived north of town until he took a job with General Motors and the family moved to Independence. Lois attended William Christman High School and it was there that she met her future husband Rillie L. Edmondson. She and Rillie were married on April 7, 1950 and they raised 4 children. Rillie passed away May 27, 1979. On May 13, 1981, Lois married J.C. McAnally and they lived in Warsaw, MO until J.C. passed away November 29, 2004. Lois then moved back to the Oak Grove. Lois had many jobs over the years such as working at the Jackson County Hospital, making pizzas at Casey’s, and even running her own lawn care business, but her most important job was being a mother.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband Rillie L. Edmondson; husband J.C. McAnally; daughters Marilyn Nava and Pamela Wright; and 2 brothers.
Lois is survived by her son Greg Edmondson (Diana) of Bates City, MO; daughter Teresa Petrechko of Chanute, KS; sister Joyce Oshel of Lee’s Summit, MO; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
