Louise Light, age 87, passed away on September 3, 2022, in Blue Springs, MO.
Louise is survived by her daughters, Deborah Light and Susan Pratt (Russ); her grandchildren, Rachel Maxwell, Sean and Ryan Pratt. She is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Light. They enjoyed 60 years of marriage together.
Louise was born on November 27, 1934, in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, to parents Jerry and Agnes Cravens. Louise and Herb moved to Independence, MO in 1959 where she worked as a bank teller at Blue Ridge Bank. In later years, she worked at Macy’s as a fiscal clerk and at the Independence Sanitarium and Hospital as a Volunteer Coordinator. After retirement, she and Herb enjoyed traveling, and spending time with their family and friends. Louise was a very talented artist. She particularly enjoyed oil painting as well as pen & ink. She was also an accomplished seamstress. Louise enjoyed sharing her gifts with family and friends.
A memorial is scheduled for October 7, 2022, at 2:00pm at the Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Louise’s life. The family would like to thank Benton House of Blue Springs for their loving care during Louise’s last year of life. Wings of Love’s nonprofit organization proudly rescues, rehabilitates, resocializes and rehomes birds whose owners can no longer care for them.
