Margaret Elaine Desmond, 83, of Independence, MO passed away May 11, 2023. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00p.m. Saturday June 3, 2023 at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home; Independence, MO. Memorial service will follow at 2:00p.m. Inurnment at New Salem Cemetery.
Margaret Elaine Desmond was born on January 1st, 1940 in Pittsburg, KS.
She was married to Grover Desmond for 38 years and retired from Kansas City Life Insurance Company. She was an avid quilter, loved playing card games with her family and never knew a stranger. She was Grandma to all she came in contact with.
Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Grover Desmond, her daughter Cindy O’Nale, her grandson Lane Michalski and her sisters Gerry Ford (Tag) and Rosalie Coulter (Kenny).
Elaine is survived by her children Chip Lloyd (Leslie), Jody Melia (Don), Donna Kirkwood (Jerry), and Michelle Michalski (Dylan). Also survived by her 10 grandchildren, 7 great- grandchildren, and countless others who called her grandma.
Elaine was loved by many and lived a live full of laughter and we hold those memories dear as we remember her.
