Mary Lee Lockard, 88, passed away October 5, 2017, at The Parkway Senior Living in Blue Springs, MO. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 9th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO; Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Warrensburg, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mary Lee was born May 24, 1929, on a farm near Odessa, Missouri, the daughter of Luther and Bertha (Satterfield) Green. She graduated from College High School in Warrensburg in 1947. Mary Lee married Donald R. Lockard on June 6, 1948, and faithfully helped him manage their small farm just west of Centerview until his death in 1984. She was always very active in her church and community. She worked for several years as secretary for the First Christian Church in Warrensburg. Mary Lee moved to Blue Springs in 1994 after having spent most of her life in the Centerview/Warrensburg area. She is a member of First Baptist Church of Blue Springs.
Survivors include one sister, Norene Mealman of Sunnyvale, CA; two daughters: Donna Armstrong (husband Craig) of Grain Valley, and Patsy Shipley of Lee’s Summit; one son, David Lockard (wife Marty) of Brookshire, TX; four granddaughters; five great-granddaughters; three great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both parents; two brothers, Lester Green of Florida and Norvin Green of Kansas City; two sisters, Ruth Jarman of Holden and Verna Wagoner of Oak Grove; her husband; and one granddaughter, Lauren Lockard of Houston, Texas.
