Mary M. Wagaman


Mary Maxine Baggs Wagaman, formerly of Blue Springs, MO, passed away Sunday July 23rd of 2023 at 5 A M in Spring Hill, KS. Visitation will be 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, Missouri. Graveside service will be 12:00 p.m. in Oak Hill Cemetery on the west side of town ~ W. Lincoln Avenue, Carrollton, Missouri. Mary Maxine was born to Earl and Carrie Estle (Allen) Baggs Feburary 4, 1929 near Carrollton, in Carroll County, MO. She was the youngest of five children (Harold Allen Sr, Clifton Roy, Cecil Dale and Gladys Ruth). All of whom are now deceased.

After High School, August 25, 1947, she earned a “Teacher’s Special Certificate” from the Public Schools of Missouri for Third Grade This qualified her to teach in Carroll County. She Was a school teacher of multiple grades in a rural setting. Maxine had a passion for the nurture and advancement of children. That time was one of the most treasured experiences of her life. Maxine served children again, later in life, as a Junior and Cadet Girl Scout leader for some years. On May 30, 1948 she married Glenn Ray Wagaman. They had two children Sheryl Elaine and Warren Glenn. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Maxine gave so much to all of us, friends and family. She tried to show us the reality of a good and loving God. One to see as a source of strength, wisdom and comfort. Mary was also a bookkeeper, business owner/operator and retired from Sears. She became accomplished in ceramics. Maxine is survived by her children, their spouses, four grandchildren and two of their spouses, seven great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
