Michael Richard Thurston, 72 of Independence, MO passed away at his home February 24, 2022. No services.

Michael was born December 17, 1949 in Kansas City, MO to James & Dixie (Huelet) Thurston. He collected miniature trains and coins. Michael enjoyed bowling and playing the accordion. He and his wife loved to travel and they both attended First Baptist Church of Raytown. Michael retired in 2012 from Burd & Fletcher.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents.

Michael is survived by his wife of 38 years, Tamera Thurston; brother-in-law: Mike West and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his best four-legged fuzz buddy, Earl Gray.
