Opal Anders 84, of Lee’s Summit Missouri, formally Oak Grove Missouri passed away June 6, 2024.
Born Opal Deardorff on June 11, 1939 to Elzie and Agnes Deardorff in Warrensburg Missouri, she was the second of 5 children. She married Donald Anders and had three children. She worked at Higginsville Garment Factory until they closed, then moved to Lee’s Summit and went to work as a house keeper at John Knox Village.
Opal leaves behind 2 daughters, Cheryl (Mick) Pohlman, Deanna (Richard) Lowrey. 3 granddaughters, Ashley (Brian) Frew, Nikki (Jeff) Adams, and Christina Pohlman, 1 grandson Erik Pohlman, 5 great granddaughters and 2 great grandsons, 1 brother Ed Deardorff, 1 sister Ealine Delap, several nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog, Lilly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Arnita Stewart, her brother Earnie Deardorff, her son Robert Anders, 2 grandsons Mathew Pohlman and Jeffrey Lowrey.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18th in Warrensburg Memorial Gardens.
