Patricia M. Wilson

Patricia (Pat) McCurdy Wilson, 85, of Blue Springs, MO passed away peacefully on January 15, 2021.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 19th in Riverside Cemetery in Spencer, Iowa.

She was born December 7, 1935 to Duane and Dorothy (Fries) McCurdy in Spencer, Iowa. Pat graduated from Spencer High School in 1954. She attended business school in Mankato, MN.

Pat often spoke fondly of her high school days where she was a cheerleader, performed in school plays, and was in the marching band. While living in Spencer, she used to read recipes on KICD radio, a local station.

Besides being a wife, mother, and grandma, she worked much of her life in secretarial roles, retiring from Truman Medical Center, receptionist for the Surgical Administration department.

To say Pat was an avid KU Jayhawks Basketball fan is an understatement. Her enthusiasm was evident when it was game time. She and Ken were season ticket holders for several years and together traveled to Lawrence, KS for numerous games at Allen Fieldhouse.

She was a member of Connection Point Church and enjoyed singing in the choir for many years.

Mrs. Pat McCurdy Wilson is survived by her husband of 42 years, Ken Wilson of Blue Springs, MO; two daughters, Wendy (Jim) Cundiff of Lee’s Summit, MO; Shelly (David) Neu of Cincinnati, OH; a stepson, Tim (Deb) Wilson of Overland Park, KS, and five grandchildren, Madison and Natalie Cundiff, Joseph Neu, Jessica and Kaity Wilson; a brother, Tom McCurdy of Oceanside, CA.

Mrs. Pat McCurdy Wilson will rest in her childhood home of Spencer, IA she so dearly loved.

  1. Ken and family, please accept my heartfelt sympathy in the passing of Pat. I know we had lost touch with one another in the last few years. Such wonderful times we had together when Tim and Leland were growing up together at Blue Springs HS. Thinking of your family at this time.
