Robert “Bob” James Schick, 72, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 5th at First Baptist Church of Oak Grove. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO.
Bob was born April 1, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Alfred and Mildred (Thomas) Schick. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1963-1965 during the Vietnam era. Bob married Wanda Belle Manning on August 15, 1964. He was a Postal Inspector for 25 years, working in Washington D.C., Richmond, VA, and retiring from Kansas City, MO in 1997. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Oak Grove. Bob enjoyed watching sports, remodeling, landscaping, and doing things with his hands. He especially enjoyed going to his grandchildren’s activities.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Tom, John, and Joe Schick.
His survivors include his wife of 53 years, Wanda Schick of the home; two sons: Darrin Schick (Kelly) of Grain Valley, MO, and Brian Schick (Janel) of Lee’s Summit, MO; four grandchildren: Rachel Schick, Garrett Schick, Claira Schick, and Cooper Long; and one brother, David Schick of Marshall, MO.
