On Monday January 24, 2022, Robert (Bob) James Hoekstra, loving brother, uncle, and friend, went home to be with his Lord at the age of 74. He fought a hard and courageous battle with diabetes and kidney disease. Formerly of the Chicago area, Bob became a resident of Lee’s Summit Missouri in 1996 where he resided with his brother and best friend David. While never married, Bob lived a full life. He was a hard and dependable worker who enjoyed befriending his coworkers and others he would meet. He loved being in the beauty of God’s nature and marveled at the sight of a soaring eagle. Bob was a faithful and devout follower of Jesus Christ in whose presence he now rests.
He is survived by his sisters Dorothy Ayres and Joan McCampbell (Bill), his brothers George Hoekstra (Joanne) and David Hoekstra.
He was preceded in death by his parents Andy and Kathleen Hoekstra, his sister Ruth Hoekstra, and his brother-in-law Joel Ayres.
A service of remembrance will be held at Lee’s Summit Bible Church on Saturday, February 19th 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Lee’s Summit Bible Church, 1200 NE Colbern Rd, Lee’s Summit MO 64086.
