Robert Tede


It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Tede, a beloved father, devoted husband and cherished friend to all who knew him. Robert departed this world on November 22, 2023 leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and enduring friendships.

Robert was born in Stonewall, Oklahoma on July 28, 1926 to Victor and Mary Inez (Williams) Tede. He graduated from Pocatello, Idaho High School in 1944 and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The University of Denver in 1952. Robert’s love of flying led him to join the military. He served in the United States Navy and the United States Air Force. While serving in the Air Force and stationed at Lake Charles, LA, he flew the B-29 and was part of the Strategic Air Command (SAC). He became a first lieutenant and was honorably discharged in 1954. After his service for his country, Robert and his father started a business as manufacturers reps for sporting goods. His sister, Priscilla and husband, Frank joined the business which they called, Tede, Burns, and Associates Inc. In 1957, Robert and his family made their home in Lake Tapawingo, Missouri. Robert is a member of the First United Methodist Church, Blue Springs. Robert enjoyed a variety of sports and traveled the world extensively. In 1982, he earned his Three Diamond Pin for soaring and is listed as #500 worldwide. His life long journey was one of warmth and compassion. As a loving father, he dedicated himself to the well-being and happiness of his children, instilling in them the values of honesty, integrity, compassion and self-reliance that defined his own character. Robert’s presence was a source of comfort and joy. His genuine nature endeared him to those fortunate enough to know him. Whether through shared experiences, words of wisdom, or memories we share, Robert touched the lives of all who had the privilege of calling him friend. As we mourn the loss of Robert Tede, let us also celebrate the life he lived – a life characterized by love, generosity, and the profound impact he had on those around him. May we find solace in the memories we shared and draw strength from the lessons he imparted.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Mary Inez Tede of Ozark, Arkansas; sisters: Margaret McFall of Littleton, Colorado and Priscilla Burns of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, RoseMary Tede; son, Randy (Lynn) Tede of McMinnville, TN; daughter, Leslie (David) Brumagin of Lake Tapawingo, MO; son, Keith (Cathy) Tede of Blue Springs, MO; stepdaughter,, Gretchen Bretz of Lake Tapawingo, MO; godson, Mark Landes of Kansas City, MO; brother-in-law, Jim McFall of Littleton CO; sister-in-law, RuthAnn Koehler (John) of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephew as well as many wonderful friends and neighbors.

In tribute to Robert’s lifelong love of living at Lake Tapawingo the family suggests, if you
feel so inclined, to make a contribution to the beautification of Lake Tapawingo Liberty
Gardens and the clubhouse. Contributions will go towards additional trees and a bench to
