Shirley Lucile Hutcherson, 86, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, August 21st at the Church of Christ in Oak Grove. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made payable to the Dennis Hutcherson Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Shirley was born September 5, 1936, in Jackson County, MO, the daughter of W. D. and Marjorie Lucile (Owings) Alley. She worked in the kitchen at Oak Grove High School for many years. Shirley attended Oak Grove Church of Christ for 86 years. In her earlier years, she enjoyed riding horses and was a member of the Missouri Fox Trotter Association. Shirley was an avid Chiefs fan and loved her dog, Andy. She enjoyed reading on her Kindle and crocheting afghans.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; brother Billy Alley; son Dennis Hutcherson; and son-in-law Stanley Chadwick.
Her survivors include her husband of 67 years, Walter Hutcherson; daughter, Debra Smith and her husband Tim, granddaughter Rachel Smith, grandson Roy Smith, his wife Sara, and their children, Brooklynn, Madison, and Lauren; son, Darrell Hutcherson and his wife Vicki, grandson Wayne Hutcherson, his wife Katie, and their children Lucy, Hazel, and Millie, grandson Corey Hutcherson, his wife Amy, and their children Logan and Alaina, grandson Jeremy Johnston and his children Adrian and Lex; daughter Diane Chadwick, granddaughter Heather Cobb, her husband Billy, and their children Kendall and Maddux, granddaughter Amber Cuda, her husband Bobby, and their children Lance, Landon, Gunner, and Avery; daughter-in-law Carrie Hutcherson, grandson Dalton Hutcherson, his wife Kaitlyn, and their children Blakely, Brynley, and Bristol, granddaughter Whitney Heckadon, her husband Cole, and their children Landry and Lane, granddaughter Carlee Hutcherson; brother Robert F. Alley; and several nieces and nephews.
