William Thomas Blyler “Bill”, age 91, of Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on December 15, 2025. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Salem Cemetery, Independence, Missouri.
Bill was born on March 7, 1934, in Higginsville, Missouri, the son of Mary Upton Thurston and William Edward Edgar Blyler. He spent his life devoted to his family and the things he loved most. Bill was a proud member of the Elks Lodge and the Shriners Fellowship. In his spare time, he greatly enjoyed working on cars and traveling throughout the country with his beloved wife, Cherrie, in their family RV—creating countless memories together along the way.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Upton Thurston; his father, William Edward Edgar Blyler; and his grandson, Joshua Storment.
Bill is survived by his wife of 42 years, Cherrie Blyler; his daughters, Kandra Blyler, Sheryl O’Malley, and Laura Haynes; his grandchildren, Justin, Luke, Noah, Jacqueline, Christine, and Eric; and many loving great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy.
