
Ray H. Jura, 83, of Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully at Centerpoint Medical Center on July 8th, 2022, surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, July 23rd, 2022, at Trinity Church of the Nazarene in Independence, Missouri. Ray’s pastor, Jonathan Eigsti, will provide a message of remembrance and celebration of life, and his former pastor, Wayne Nelson, will provide a prayer of great hope and encouragement for his family and friends in attendance.
Ray was born on October 31st, 1938, in Kansas City, Missouri. The son of John J. Jura and Anna Mae (Dell) Jura. He attended public school in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated from East High School (KCMO). Ray worked 33 years for the General Motors Corporation in Kansas City, Kansas and retired in 1994. Ray married Frankie Ann Wiser on February 3rd, 1962, and was the father to three children: Larry Jura, Kim Rush, and Gary Jura.
Ray loved the outdoors and especially fishing with family and friends. Ray also loved his church and church family. He attended Trinity Church of the Nazarene where he served in many stewardship roles throughout the years, and he served on the church board until “It was Time for the Younger Folks to Serve on the Board”.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna Mae Jura, and his brothers, Roland Anderson, and James Jura.
Ray is survived by his wife, Frankie Ann Jura: his son, Larry Jura, his daughter, Kim (Jura) Rush, and his son, Gary Jura; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; his brother, John Jura; and his sister Judy (Jura) Bateman.
