
Willis James Mullins, 83, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2022, at St. Luke’s East in Lee’s Summit, MO. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 21st in Floral Hills East, Lee’s Summit.
Willis was born July 12, 1939, in Pierre, South Dakota, the son of James and Velma (Peters) Mullins. He served his country in the United States Air Force. Willis worked 40 years for Sharp-Long Heating and Cooling. He never stopped loving his job. He also never met a car he didn’t love, along with all of his big boy toys. Willis enjoyed feeding wildlife and even bought a pool so the raccoons could stay cool. He adored off roading the Jeep trails in Colorado.
Willis was preceded in death by parents, brother Ronnie Mullins, and sister Charlotte Herf.
His survivors include his wife of 47 years, Sue Mullins of the home; three sons: Jeff Mullins (Laura) of Oak Grove, Scott Mullins (Mary) of Lee’s Summit, and Kirk Mullins (Grace) of Lone Jack, MO; brother, Virgil Mullins; and Chris Kleck of Lee’s Summit, who was like a son. Willis was also leaves behind four grandchildren: Nathan Mullins, Matthew Mullins, Paige Sanders, and Tory Braveel; stepson and caretaker, Sean Arnett; stepdaughter, Amie Sanders (Marc Coleman); and two great-grandchildren, Kerrigan and Ella.
