Charles Lloyd Alumbaugh “John,” 73 of Odessa, MO passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. He is survived by his five children: James Allen Alumbaugh and wife Katelyn, Robert Lloyd Alumbaugh and wife Kim, Nikki Celeste Alumbaugh-Ahrens, Melissa June Alumbaugh-Williams and husband Andrew, and Charles Joseph Alumbaugh and wife Kortney. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Latasha Hinkle and Christopher Hodges. Charles had twenty-seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and dozens of nieces and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Martha Alumbaugh, daughter Donna Lee Alumbaugh-Warren, sister Billy Jo Goodwin, brother Ivan Wayne “Pete” Alumbaugh, and nephew William “Corky” Goodwin.
Charles was born in Wellington, MO on September 25, 1949, to Charles and Martha Alumbaugh, and grew up in Odessa, MO, with his four sisters, Billy Jo Goodwin, Donna Kay Wood, Jewel Dean Reade, and Patty Ann Sawyer, and three brothers, Ross, Ivan Wayne, and Max Lynn Alumbaugh.
Charles was a hardworking, self-employed contractor in the paving and seal coating business for 50 years. He was a Christian man that was devoted to his family and loved all of them dearly. His laughter was contagious, and his sense of humor was priceless. Charles loved photographs and talking about the good old days. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and so many others.
