Marilyn Jean Farrell, 83, of Independence MO went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 22, 2022. A Celebration of life to Honor Marilyn will be held Friday, August 5, 2022 at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home Independence. Her children will greet family and friends from 2pm to 3:30pm, service at 3:30pm. In lieu of flowers, Donations in her honor to Wounded Warrior Project.
Marilyn was born in Independence on June 13, 1939 to Carl and Dorothy (Countryman) Wilson. She married Jack Farrell in 1963. She owned her own Home Beauty Shop “Marilyn’s Beauty Shop” while her children were in school. She worked for South Western Bell Telephone. She enjoyed baking, quilting, sewing, gardening, canning, traveling and spending time with her family and beloved dogs. There are not enough words in the world to describe the impact Marilyn had on this Earth. She devoted her life to her family and friends. She was kind-hearted, loyal, and selfless. Her beautiful legacy will live on through all the lives she touched. Cherish all the precious memories you have of her.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, brother Merle Wilson of El Cajon, California, son Gary Farrell, daughter-in-law Barbara (Barbie) Farrell of Independence and grandson Davy Wayne Barttrum.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Jack, son Jerry Farrell of Independence, daughter Janice Taylor of Independence, daughter DeAnna and husband Steve Walter of Colorado Springs, Colorado, daughter Tina Farrell of Independence, brother Hal and wife Carol Wilson of Independence, sister-in-law Arnette Wilson of El Cajon, California. 12 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews.
