Travis A. Vance


Travis Alan Vance, 47, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at Kansas City Hospice House.  A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19th at Royer Funeral Home in Oak Grove.  Contributions may be made to the family – funds will be placed in a trust for Travis’ granddaughter, Mila.

Travis was born May 2, 1975, in Independence, Missouri.  He graduated from Oak Grove High School in 1993.  Travis loved working with his hands and owned his own carpentry business, where his employees were like family to him.  He always made sure everyone around him was taken care of.  Travis enjoyed playing cards with friends, traveling, going to Ameristar Casino, and was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos.

Travis leaves behind his son, Caleb Carlisle (Brookelyn) of Iowa City, IA; four grandchildren that he was so proud of: Mila, Heidi, Ezra, and Dean; his father, David Vance of Oak Grove; brother, Chris Vance of Oak Grove; sister, Stacie Scarborough of Blue Springs, MO; nieces and nephews: Torrie Thielbar, Dylan Scarborough, Abbie Scarborough, Peyton Vance, and Dalton Clemons; and his maternal grandfather, Tiny Epperly of Lexington, MO.

  1. my sympathy to all of Travis’s family. we started working together year’s ago, he taught me to throw dice and I taunted him with pickles. we have been close friends ever since. He will be missed greatly.
