Emma Rose Nelson, 16, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11th at Royer Funeral Home in Oak Grove. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.  The family would like everyone to dress casual.

Emma was born May 4, 2006, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota the daughter of Donnie L. Nelson III and Julie (Nelson) Moffenbier. Emma was currently in her junior year at Oak Grove High School.  Emma loved Halloween and dressing up.  She found solace and comfort while working on her art.  She spent many hours drawing and learning art with her Dad.

Emma was funny, full of energy with a sarcastic sense of humor. She faced many challenges but did so bravely and with a bright, sunny disposition most of the time.

Emma successfully sang impromptu at her high school talent show during her sophomore  year.  She was a kind soul that never knew a stranger.

Emma was the mini version of her mother in appearance, and in many ways the mini version of her father in her personality.  She enjoyed listening to different genres of music and enjoyed reading.  Emma looked up to her big brother, Taylor which was evident by her persistence in being near him.

Emma is survived by her mother, Julie(David) Moffenbier; father, Donnie Nelson; brother, Taylor Stern; grandparents, Tom and Susie Dent; grandfather, Don Jr. (Nancy Dugan) Nelson; grandparents, Bruce and Shirley Milberger; great grandfather, Don Sr. (Jo Ann) Nelson and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
