The world lost a Superhero December 17th 2022, Melford “Buck” Downs of Jackson County who is survived by the love of his life Marilyn, wife of 57 years. Together they had 3 children, daughter, Robin her husband Jim Tackett, son Kenneth, and daughter Angela her husband Jay Kanik, as well as 4 grandchildren: Alec and his wife Rose, Christian, Brooklyn, and Lincoln. Melford retired from Lake City Army Ammunition plant and had a passion for cars, car racing, western movies, and being with his family. A family graveside service is scheduled for Dec 30th at 11:00 am at Salem Cemetery located at 1805 N. Blue Mills Road, Independence, MO 64058. “Back in the Saddle again….
