Keiko Morgan


Keiko Morgan, 83, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Monday, March 13, 2023, at Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City. The daughter of Masakichi and Haru Ogawa, Keiko was born September 5, 1939, in Tokyo, Japan. Keiko graduated from Chiba University in Chiba, Japan with a bachelor’s degree in English language. On February 2nd, 1966, she married Norman Morgan at the American Embassy in Tokyo. Keiko worked at Venture as a store manager in Independence for 10 years before becoming a teacher of Japanese language at Fort Osage High School and Grain Valley High School which she continued until her retirement. Keiko enjoyed her family, friends, gardening, traveling, and sudoku. Keiko is survived by her husband, Norman Morgan; two children, Stanley (Susie) Morgan and Anita (Frank) Kish; two grandchildren, Zachary (Emily) Morgan and Lauren Kish; two brothers, Koichi (Nobuko) Ogawa and Yuzo (Yasue) Ogawa; two nieces, Shinobu and Ikuno Ogawa; three nephews, Tetsuaki, Hiroshi, and Kioshi Ogawa; and two great-grandchildren, Lawson and Kellen Morgan.

  1. My sincere condolences to Anita, Frank, and Lauren. It was a pleasure meeting Mrs. Morgan in 2006. I will never forget our conversations about Japan, teaching, different kinds of tea, and life. She will surely be missed.
