Michael S. Caton


On June 7th, 2023 we lost Michael Scott Caton, 57, of Odessa, Missouri.

Mike was a kind, beautiful, ornery, funny soul who loved and was loved by so many.  He will be greatly missed. 

Mike was born on October 21st, 1965 to Lloyd Caton and Jane Due.   Mike was married to Tina Graham on October 7th, 1995 and was the proud father of Kayla and Maximus Caton.   On September 2nd, 2017 Mike married Kim Felton and his family grew to include two more sons, Wyatt and Brennan Bottcher.   

Mike’s most cherished moment was the birth of his grandson, Daxton. It was in spending time with him that he found true joy and happiness.   

Mike loved his children, family and friends and would do anything to help, protect and care for them.   

He and his brother, Bryan Caton were the owners of Midland Marble and Granite for 22 years.   Their dedication and hard work earned them many accolades and they were featured in magazines such as Ingrams, Kansas City Business Journal and Stone World.   Their legacy can be seen around the Midwest in homes and businesses, including the fountain outside of Union Station!

Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Jane Due.  He leaves behind his wife, Kimberly Caton, his daughter Kayla (Hunter Bredehoeft) Caton, son Maximus (Shelby Potter) Caton, stepsons Wyatt and Brennan Bottcher, grandson Daxton Bredehoeft, father Lloyd (Joyce) Caton, brother Bryan (Krista) Caton, siblings, Steve (Cheryl) Mills, Janet (Rob) Colner, Tim (Jolee) Due, Jim (Elisabeth) Due, Tina (Troy) Martin, Tammy (Jerry) Coborn and many other family and friends – not to mention 143+ cannons of all sizes and 13 squirrels in the garage freezer!

Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Royer Funeral Home in Grain Valley, Missouri.  Funeral Services will follow at 6:00 p.m.  A light meal and gathering to follow at: AIFF local 3133 Hall at 29210 SE AA Hwy, Blue Springs, MO 64014.  A private burial for family and close friends will be Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Dearborn, Missouri. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Rainbow Center 900 N.W. Woods Chapel Road, Blue Springs, Missouri 64015.

  2. My heart aches for your loss. Mike always greted me with a friendly and knowageable presence. He is cherished by his neighbors. There is a place he filled that will be a tremendous challenge for any one to attempt to fill.May his family celebrate his life and heal from the loss.
