Daina Lynn Barnes, 54, of Buckner, MO passed away Sunday, August 27, 2023. Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 – 7:00pm Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home, Independence, MO.
Daina was born in Independence, Missouri, to her parents, Bill and Ellen Hair.
Daina married Timothy Barnes on September 23, 1988. Daina worked for a while before becoming a stay-at-home mother to her two boys, Joshua and Justin. When the boys got older, Daina went back to work at Mera Vic before deciding to retire so she could watch 2 of her grandchildren until each of their first birthdays. Daina loved her family fiercely and made sure everyone always heard the words “I love you” constantly.
Daina is survived by her husband, Timothy Barnes, her parents, Bill and Ellen Hair, her sons Joshua Barnes and Justin (Kelsey) Barnes, and her three grandchildren Kylie, Owen and Finley.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Gary Hair.
