Dale E. Fry

Dale Earl Fry, 76, of Independence Missouri, passed away on Saturday, March 25,2023 at CenterPoint Medical Center.  Dale was born to Bill and Theda Fry on December 23, 1946.  In his youth, he enjoyed playing his trumpet and fast cars.   Dale proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Track and Wheel Vehicle Mechanic in the 3rd Armor Division stationed in Germany.  Upon his Honorable Discharge from the Service, Dale met and married the love of his life Linda, where they had two daughters Karry and Cindy.  Dale and Linda were inseparable for over 53 years of marriage.

Dale was known for his strong work ethics and ensured he shared those attributes with his girls (Karry and Cindy).  Work was important family was first, he rarely missed a family function; you could always find him in the stands of one of his daughters’ volleyball or softball games, sometimes even standing in the middle to watch both girls play.   He spent countless hours in the backyard playing catch or the driveway shooting baskets but one thing he enjoyed most, when they tagged along with him to work handing him tools.

Through the years he shared his hobbies with those close to him.  On many long weekends you could find the Fry’s camping at a state park or Dale and Linda traveling across the United States to visit different landmarks or make special trips to personally promote his daughter Cindy to the ranks of Staff Sergeant and Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army and was in attendance for her retirement ceremony.  He also attended Karry’s College graduation ceremonies which included her Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree.  They also made several cross-country trips to see their grandson.  Dale had a passion for woodworking and fly fishing all in which he shared with Linda and Zachary and his girls, on visits Zachary would often be in the barn getting classes ranging from the lathe to the scroll saw, and fly-tying classes would commence shortly after. He was proud of his Fly collection that he created over time and the knowledge he was able to pass down to his family. Dale was also a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Dale is loved and will be missed by his survivors; his lifelong loving wife Linda along with their loyal dog Cera; daughters, Karry Schupp (Jason), Cindy Allen (Larry) and Grandson Zachary Allen.
