Ronald Lee Finney, age 83, longtime resident of Oak Grove, MO, most recently a resident of John Knox Village in Lee’s Summit, MO, passed away on January 1, 2024.
Ron was born to Glen and Versie (Baskett) Finney in Purdin, MO on March 10, 1940. Ron married his beloved wife Linda on March 27, 1971, and they moved to Oak Grove, MO with her two sons, Jeff and Kevin. Their daughter Ronda was born in 1972.
Ron worked for Hallmark Cards from 1958-1995. When not at work, he enjoyed woodworking, fixing the family vehicles, gardening, and generally fixing everything under the sun.
After retiring in 1995 from Hallmark Cards, Ron and Linda enjoyed travelling the country, especially during the cold Missouri winters, with extended winter stays in Harlingen TX and most recently Gold Canyon AZ, where they made many wonderful friends.
Survivors include his daughter Ronda Hogberg and her husband John of Riverside, RI; two step-sons, Jeffrey Barnett and his wife Becky of Basehor, KS and Kevin Barnett and his wife Suzanne of Garden City, MO; 9 grandsons, Tom Mosby and his wife Andrea, Jacob Mosby and his wife Kady, Benjamin Barnett, Timothy Barnett, Daniel Barnett and his wife Savannah, David Barnett and his wife Camille, Joshua Barnett and his wife Caitlin, Jonathan Barnett, and Nathan Barnett; 6 great grandchildren; brother Carlos Finney and his wife Norma of Lathrop; sister-in-law Marlene Finney of Shelby; and many nieces and nephews.
Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Linda, brother Jerry Finney, and sister Sharon Munsterman.
A private family burial will be held at a time to be determined. Memorials can be sent to his home church, First Baptist Church of Oak Grove at 400 SE 14th St in Oak Grove, MO.
