Mario A. Guerrero Suárez

Mario Andrés Guerrero Suárez, 58, of Blue Springs, MO, passed away on July 9, 2024. Born on December 7, 1965, he grew up in Puerto Rico under the care of his mother (Yolanda), grandmother (Isabel), and adoptive mother (Maria). Mario graduated from Baldwin High School in Puerto Rico with his firefighter/EMT certification and later went on to help develop Puerto Rico’s first emergency management system. His chosen career was a semi-truck driver, something he dreamt about since high school. He spent much of his time working with cars and trucks, cooking for his friends and family, working on projects around the house, and drag racing. Mario married the love of his life, Naima, on March 29, 1997. They went on to have two daughters, Yolimarisa and Sara. Being a husband and father were two of his greatest accomplishments, as he adored and cherished his girls. Mario was never without a smile and a boisterous laugh. Always the life of the party, he never knew a stranger.

Mario is survived by his loving wife, Naima, daughters, Yolimarisa and Sara; mother Maria Mercedexs Guerrero; brother-in-law Luis Colon (Carmen); life-long friends Eduardo Maldonado (Llelidza), Samuel Acosta (Carmen), and Steve Wood. He left behind many friends and family who love and miss him dearly.

There will be a celebration of life honoring Mario on July 21st at Lake Tapawingo Clubhouse, 244 Dockside Lake Tapawingo, MO 64015 from 12-4 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to The First Responders Foundation.
