Karen L. Angel


Karen Lynn Angel, 66, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at St. Luke’s on the Plaza in Kansas City, MO. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 18th at Royer Funeral Home in Oak Grove; burial in Grain Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to the St. Luke’s Heart Institute.

Karen was born on October 4, 1957, in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Arthur Ernest and Lillian Rose (Heins) Kottman, and grew up in Grain Valley, MO. She retired after 38 years from Honeywell, where she made many lasting friendships. Karen loved going to estate sales, being outdoors, and working in her flowerbeds. She also enjoyed crocheting, traveling to Branson, and being with her family.

Karen’s survivors include her husband, Terry Angel of the home; three children: son Justin Green of Blue Springs, MO, daughter Stephanie Green of Ozark, MO, and stepdaughter Jamie Angel of Lee’s Summit, MO; sister, Brenda Hayden of Oak Grove; brother, Monte Kottman and wife Julia of Lee’s Summit; mother-in-law, Jody Myers of Harrisonville, MO; brother-in-law Mike Angel and wife Pat of Grandview, MO; sister-in-law Debbie Hendrix and husband Galen of Harrisonville, MO; sister-in-law Michelle Buasri and husband Sip of Richmond, TX; nephews, Jeff, Mason, and Jaxon; nieces, Kathryn, Skylar, and Savannah; many extended family members; and her granddogs. She was preceded in death by her parents.

  2. We were so sorry to hear of Karen’s passing. She was such a wonderful friend. Our thoughts and prayers for Stephanie and the rest of Karen’s family.

  3. My heart is broken. Karen and I were best friends my Jr. /Sr yr in high School. And her Sophomore an and her Junior yr. Our birthdays were 3 days apart. We recently , texted each other, it was great , hearing from her , we talk about families, retirement, and some memories from school.
