Jack D. Webber


Jackie Dean Webber, 82, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 12th at First Baptist Church of Oak Grove; burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the church.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Oak Grove.

Jack was born February 7, 1942, in Smithville, MO, the son of William Ramsey and Mildred Irene (Hamm) McCarty.  He was a Navy Veteran and retired from Armco Steel where he worked as a Millwright.  Jack was also the Assistant Fire Chief for Sni Valley Fire Department for many years.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of Oak Grove where he served as Deacon.  Jack was an avid gardener, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, working on old cars, and going to car shows.  He played football in high school and still loved his sports, especially the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Brenda Bettis; brother-in-law, David Bettis; and granddaughter, Jessica Webber.

His survivors include his wife, Judy of the home; four children: Merrie Callahan of Blue Springs, MO, Laura Anderson (Tom) of Grain Valley, MO, Kevin Webber of Calhoun, MO, and Leah McCarty of Grain Valley; twelve grandchildren: Michael, Mellissa, Mikayla, McKensie, Molly, Ashlee, Dakota, Lyndsey, Joshua, Levi, Trace, and Hannah; ten great-grandchildren: Joshua, Strader, Isabella, Serenity, Justice, Andre, Rose, Maya Jane, Jackson, and Ezra; brother, Ed McCarty (Shirley) of Springfield, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
