Terry L. Chesnut


Terry Lou Chesnut of Independence, MO passed away on September 27, 2024. Services to be announced at a later date.

Terry was born on January 25, 1953 to Floyd and Alberta Chesnut.  She proudly worked for Clorox for 27 years, spent much of her career as a union forklift operator. Terry loved to spend time with her family. She took joy in playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her horses, cats, dogs and all other critters that crossed her path.  Terry was always supportive of her friends and family’s dreams and hobbies. She had a weakness for chocolate and sweets.  She was always tending to her bird feeders. She was an avid Chiefs football fan, and was always yelling at the players or refs through the television. Terry enjoyed watching Westerns and listening to Hymns and gospel music. She was always upbeat and quick to wish a good morning and good evening. She liked going on adventures and hearing about other’s adventures.  Terry will be greatly missed. 

She is preceded in death by both her parents; her brother, Larry Chesnut, and her brother in law, Roger Ingram.

Terry is survived by her sisters Sally Sugg and Sue Ingram, her son David Chesnut and his wife Timberly, two nieces, Georgia Resch and Kendra Ingram, great nephew, Brandon Resch, great niece, Valerie Resch, her grandchildren, Elizabeth Rickel and her husband Kavin, Thomas Bowman, and David Chesnut, her great grandchildren, Damien Chesnut, Brayden Hayes, Charlotte Harris, and Carolyn Chesnut, and many other family and friends.
