Marsha Louise Puckett (nee Hohlfeld), 79, passed away peacefully January 1, 2025 in Blue Springs, MO. She was born March 13, 1945 in St. Louis, MO, to Russell F. and Mary F. (Simeone) Hohlfeld. She graduated from St. Elizabeth Academy in 1963 and earned a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1967. She worked at KXEO-AM and KWWR-FM in Mexico, Missouri. She cherished her time working at the Junior College of St. Louis-St. Louis County (St. Louis Community College), starting at the Forest Park Campus and then moving to the central office where she made friends and memories that would last a lifetime. On November 16, 1974, she married James S. Puckett in St. Louis, MO. Being a mother to her daughters was the joy of her life. Second to being a mother and grandmother, she spent time crocheting, listening to Johnny Mercer, cooking the best eggplant parmesan, and of course, watching classic movies.
Marsha is survived by her daughters, Diane Puckett and Sally (John) Whitaker of Grain Valley, MO; sister Diane (Edward) Gold of St. Louis, MO; brother Brian (Nicole) Hohlfeld of Pasadena, CA; grandchildren Ezra Whitaker and Levi Whitaker as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Neil Hohlfeld, and her husband, Jim.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, at 1pm followed by a funeral service at 2pm at Royer Funeral Home in Grain Valley, Missouri. Interment will take place at Blue Springs Cemetery
