Barbara Jean Charles, 88, of Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024.
Barbara was born on November 10, 1936, to Orville and Sarah Fultz, the third of nine children. She graduated from the old William Chrisman High School, then began a career as a Supervisor with McKesson Pharmaceuticals, where she worked until retirement. She married the love of her life, Frank Russell Charles, in 1978. Together they lived a full and entertaining life, spending cherished summers at the lake creating lasting memories with their grandchildren, friends, and family members. They traveled, laughed, loved and lived. She was known for her bright and early birthday calls, singing your happy birthday into existence. Barbara was known for her open-hearted hospitality. You knew the garage fridge would always be stocked with your favorite drinks, and all who visited were welcome to help themselves. More than anything else, Barbara loved her family and found pure joy in their presence.
Barbara is survived by her loving children Bill Andrews, Mike (Becky) Andrews, and Tim (Sis) Andrews, Dana Molthan, Bryon Charles, and Bruce (Jodie) Charles. Brothers Billy Fultz and Larry Fultz, 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Barbara is proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, siblings – Orville Fultz Jr., Johnny Fultz, Charlene Gillette, Claude Fultz, Karen Fultz and Ronald Fultz – and great-grandson Jaylen Andrews.
The family is holding a private dinner on January 25, 2025 to celebrate the well-lived life of Barbara Charles.
