William “Bill” D. Lewis

William “Bill” Douglas Lewis, 56, of Lone Jack, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025.  Services will be held at the Restoration Branch in Oak Grove on Saturday, April 26th, with visitation from 4:00–5:00 p.m. and memorial immediately following.

Bill was born on August 10, 1968, to Glen W. and Patricia P. (Davis) Lewis. He graduated from Oak Grove High School in 1986, the same year he earned the title of 119-pound state wrestling champion. Throughout his life, Bill achieved much. He was a lifelong real estate investor and had a deep love for the outdoors—boating, scuba diving, and skiing at the Lake of the Ozarks were among his favorite pastimes.

Bill and his father, Glen, were both licensed pilots and often flew together, even traveling as far as Oshkosh to attend the annual airshow. He also enjoyed gambling and never passed up a trip to the casino, where he often found himself on a lucky streak.

No matter what life threw at him, Bill could always be found with a big, infectious smile. His sense of humor was unmatched—he had a talent for making those around him laugh with his sharp wit, great jokes, and quick one-liners.

Bill is survived by his son, William Lewis of Oak Grove, MO; his mother, Pat Lewis of Lone Jack, MO; two brothers, Jim Lewis (Estelle) of Belton, MO, and Tom Lewis of Lone Jack, MO; and his nieces and nephew: Nicolas Lewis, Natalie Lewis, Aubrey Lewis, and Adelyn Lewis.  He was preceded in death by his father, Glen, and infant brother, Matthew Lewis.

Arrangements:  Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, Missouri
