
Bonnie Jean Markham, 90, of Odessa passed peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on October 8, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held October 21at 3:00pm at New Horizon Presbyterian Church, 4266 MO-131 Odessa, MO. Interment will be on a later date at Holden Cemetery.
Bonnie was born to Fred and Florence (Fann) Trabue on October 6, 1935 in Independence Missouri. She graduated from Oak Grove High School in 1953. Bonnie was a housewife for many years and took great pride in her 5 children and spending many years serving as room mother in their classrooms. Later in life, her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life. She spent many years caring for and attending their various activities. Bonnie was employed by Western Electric and later retired from CelNet. For many years, she enjoyed preparing Sunday dinner where her family and friends especially enjoyed her fried chicken, her famous cinnamon rolls, sugar cookies and various other delicious dishes.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Diana McLellan, son, Henry “Allen” Barker, sister Laverna Austin and brother Harold Trabue.
She is survived by 3 sons, James (Stacey) Barker, Thomas Barker, and David Barker all of Odessa; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
