Eldon R. Wintermeyer


It is with great sadness that the family of Eldon Ray Wintermeyer announce his sudden passing on November 9, 2025 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Blue Springs, MO. Eldon was born May 28,1940 in Missouri. As a teenager Eldon worked for Mattingly’s Dime Store and progressed to Manager at the Trenton MO store.  He later went back to Central Missouri University and graduated in 1972, changing careers to Low Voltage Electrician with Simplex Time Recorder and Fire Alam Systems. He also served in the Army National Guard.

Eldon was known for his quick wit and kind and gentle spirit.  He was happiest when he was helping others. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing guitar, communicating with others across the world on his Ham Radio and he had a large tower in the back yard for this purpose.

Eldon leaves to mourn his brother Larry Gene Wintermeyer (Irene), the love of his life Doris Horsman, Stepdaughters Regina Young (Kevin) and Cammy Marble (Ken) also stepson Ash Okorn (Connie).  Nieces Holly Campbell (Jack), Fredia Wintermeyer Lolley and Rachel Arney (Scott).  Nephew Carl Wintermeyer.  Sisters-in-law Deborah Dye and Sylvia Wintermeyer. Also leaving to mourn are many Step-Grandchildren, Step-Great Grandchildren as well as his special friends.

Eldon was predeceased by his parents Charles Wintermeyer (Eunice) and Florence Ely (Don), brother Fred Wintermeyer and brother-in-law Jim Dye.

A Celebration of life for his family and friends will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 28th at Sinclair’s Restaurant in Blue Springs.
